Statistics: Russia’s GDP falls 3.4% in January–June
MOSCOW, Aug 19 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 3.4% on the year in January–June, the Federal State Statistics Service said Wednesday.
The Economic Development Ministry earlier estimated the GDP decline in January–June at 3.4% as well.
In April–June, GDP fell 4.6% against the ministry’s estimate of 4.4%.
In 2014, the GDP rose 0.6%. The ministry projects GDP to decline 2.8% in 2015. But presidential aide Andrei Belousov said on Monday that Russia’s economy could shrink 3.5–4% in 2015.
